The Power Of A Single Picture #ofilispeaks

When I met Ada about 2 weeks ago, I was told the reason her right leg was distorted was because she fell at child birth … I believed it.

But thanks to Sally of Moskeda Pages I later found out that that was not the case. That she in fact had “club foot: a deformed foot which is twisted so that the sole cannot be placed flat on the ground”

Tamara who is doing amazing work in that community took Ada and her Mum to the Hospital. Where the Doctor scolded her Mum for not bring her in earlier all they would need to do is plaster thr leg to fix it. The total cost so far … N10,500!

This story is significant for me because it shows the power of all of us going to our communities and seeing what issues they face.

Ada could have grown up with permanent deformity because of a simple 10,500 naira treatment. And all that changed because of a “simple picture” and an activated audience.
