No Pant Day Or Egg Plant Day? #ProstrateCancerAwareness

So apparently yesterday was “No Bra Day.”

I realized it was No Bra Day because there was a large number of breasts popping up on my Instagram and Facebook pages … all in a bid to “raise” awareness for Breast Cancer.

Now I am not against viral marketing or cancer awareness programs. But sometimes, I think some campaigns go too far … so far that they miss the point and become a joke.

I mean the No Bra day got our attention, but for all the wrong reasons. It was like organizing a wet t-shirt competition to raise awareness for breast cancer … distracting!

Can you imagine, if in order to raise awareness for Prostrate Cancer, we required men to do a No Pant Day or Egg Plant Day. Where they get to post pictures of their pantless crotches on the world-wide web? Unimaginable…

So why do we think it is okay for women to do the same? Sometimes the message is good, but the medium is corrupted … and that is exactly what happened in the case of Egg Plant Day No Bra Day.
