Did you know that the popular oil city of Port-Harcourt (my birth place) was named after a notorious pedophile?

Lewis Vernon Harcourt, was a British politician and government minister.

In order to appease his boss, then Governor-General of Nigeria, Frederick Lugard (the 1914 amalgamation guy) decided to call the new “port” he had “discovered” … I mean established “Port-Harcourt.”

… Mr. Harcourt committed suicide in 1922 after the threat of exposure by the mother of a 12 year old boy he attempted to rape. #HistoryIsImportant
