Breaking News: Nigerian Politics Is Not The English Premier League

The English Premier league is about to kick-off….

And that kick-off is going to bring the usual soccer banter and debate over who is the best team in the world. At the end some will win and many will lose, but regardless of who wins…nothing will change in our lives!

Chelsea will not use their Champions League Championship money to build a road in front of your house, neither will Liverpool use their English Premier League winners money to fix the transformer in your village. Nothing will happen, because it is just a game.

But politics on the other hand…is reality … the outcome affects us directly. But sadly people act likes it’s just a competition. An EPL competition!

News Flash…

It’s not APC FC versus PDP FC that all ended after the elections … that was the pre-season try out’s. The final squad has been chosen and it is now Nigeria FC versus Boko Haram FC, NEPA FC, WURU WURU CLUB and CORRUPTION UNITED.

And we all need to come together and support TEAM NIGERIA rather than cheer on BOKO HARAM FC when they score against us or praise WURU WURU CLUB when they dribble us.

But because we are TEAM NIGERIA, does not mean we cannot criticize our team when they are messing-up. We need to consistently speak up, vent our frustration, tell management if a coach needs to be fired or if a player needs to be benched. And when we speak loudly and consistently enough the team has no other option left than to listen and act!

So let’s all get on the Nigeria FC bandwagon and realize that when one team losses, the other team does not win! We all lose together. But when one team wins, we all win together. THE END
